Panathinaikos has fallen down the ladder for the second time in two rounds, now demoted to seventh.

The loss added insult to injury as it was beaten by a newly promoted club, Panthrakikos 1-2 at home.

The 2-1 win came by goals from Zequinha and Romeu, with Luciano Figueroa temporarily equalizing for the host in its 500th league game at the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium.

The team might be continuing their losing streak as they go up against equal third placed Ergotelis on Sunday.

Olympiakos is still leading, keeping a constant three points ahead of PAOK, who had a strong 2-0 win against Asteras Tripolis.

Former Benfica centre back, Miguel Vitor, scored both goals for PAOK in the Thessaloniki club and gave them more confidence for their Europa League match on Thursday.

A hot seven-minute spell in the second half ensured Olympiakos retained its three-point lead at the top of the Super League as the Reds came from behind to beat Platanias at Hania on Saturday.

Platanias scored an early goal through David Torres, with the Hania team leading up to the 66th minute. Yet the own goal by Platanias defender Vasco Fernandes, a minute after being wrongly booked by the referee for what appeared to be a Javier Saviola dive, opened the Olympiakos floodgates.

By the 73rd minute Olympiakos had gone 3-1 up through goals by Costas Mitroglou and Saviola before Vladimir Weiss shaped the final 4-1 score with a great solo effort.

They go up against OFI on Monday, in what is expected to be another easy win for the reds.

The biggest win of the weekend belonged to Xanthi, which defeated Kalloni Lesvou 5-1 in Thessaloniki. They moved up to fifth position, and take on third placed Atromitos.
