In a difficult climate for the arts, Australian poetry and spoken word is in a renaissance with Koraly Dimitriadis’ poetry bestseller, Love and F—k Poems, set to be launched in Europe by UK publisher Honest Publishing.

As part of a short European tour, Dimitriadis will enthrall audiences in London, Athens and multiple cities in Cyprus, where her parents were born.

Thanks to an Australia Council ArtStart grant in 2014, Dimitriadis travelled to Cyprus and worked with translator Konstantina Ioannidou to translate her novel-in-verse into Greek. Honest Publishing will be publishing and launching both Greek and English editions for European distribution.

“I want to communicate with women, this is my aim,” Dimitriadis says. “I want to be honest with who I am and my femininity to give courage to woman who have experienced repression.”

Love and Fuck Poems and Ποιήματα Για Αγάπη και Για Γαμήσι will be released on 20th September 2016 for European distribution.

Dimitriadis shocked audiences back in 2014 when she performed her poems in both Greek and English in Cyprus. This set off a media stir and intense literary debate that reached from Greece and the UK, and she received acclaim for her work by prominent Greek reporter and reviewer Αntonis Mboskoitis.

Love and F—k Poems is a trailblazing story told through poetry of culture, divorce, love and the maddening scurry to find the sexual self.

Koraly Dimitriadis is a freelance opinion writer for major media publications such as Daily Life , Rendezview and SBS Life. She is a filmmaker, actor and performer, and her debut theatre show Koraly: “I say the wrong things all the time” will premiere at La Mama Theatre between 30 November and 11 December, 2016.
