Alphington Grammar was established by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria in 1989. Now, 30 years on, and the bilingual school is fast carving out a niche for itself despite its relatively young history.

The independent co-educational secondary school decided to celebrate its 30-year milestone by showing its strong community focus through a number of events. Despite being a predominantly Greek school, the institution is non-denominational and has students from around ethnic and religious backgrounds that see the value of the core ideology that the school espouses.

The festivities to celebrate the school’s anniversary had a community feel and embraced the school’s motto that “every student matters and has vast opportunities to excel”. This spirit could be seen in the happy faces of its young students who enjoyed the celebration.

Events kicked off at 3.30pm with carnival rides and food trucks and culminated with fireworks at 9pm.
