Emanuel Comino AM, founder and chair of the International Organising Committee – Australia – for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles Inc., was elected Vice-Chair of the International Association for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures by the General Assembly of the Association, that met in Athens on 16 April. This election constitutes a well-deserved tribute to Mr Comino for his continuous effort since 1981 to initiate and to keep alive the claim for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures.

The International Association for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, founded in 2005, promotes the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures in the Acropolis Museum in Athens and cooperates closely with the President of the Hellenic Republic, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Acropolis Museum and the Hellenic Advisory Committee for the Parthenon Sculptures. The Association is currently active in 18 countries worldwide and consists of 20 national member-committees.
