Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, known for his Academy Award-nominated films such as The Favourite and The Lobster, directed Gucci’s new Spring/Summer 2020 advertising campaign.

The impressive project features horses walking the streets of Los Angeles alongside protagonists.

Gucci reports that the campaign, the brainchild of creative director Alessandro Michele, represents “an exercise in warm-hearted ambiguity, an act of everyday surrealism, a celebration of the paradoxical.”

Mr Lanthimos surreal filmmaking style and and animal symbolism is ideal for the concept.
