In the most recent list of top travel destinations, published by Travel + Leisure magazine, seven Greek islands sit among the world’s most beautiful islands.
The Aegean island of Paros was voted the best island in Europe by the magazine’s readers who rated it the highest for its beautiful beaches, traditional architecture, picturesque villages with delicious cuisine, its archaeological sites as well as for its exciting nightlife that caters for everyone.
In last year’s magazine there was another Greek island placed at the top of the Best European Island list, Milos.
Crete made it in the top 5 as well, with Rhodes and the Dodecanese hitting10th place.
Santorini made it onto 11, while Corfu and the Ionian Islands ranked 18th together.
Surprisingly for some, Greece’s most popular island, Mykonos, came twentieth.
