Greece confirmed 354 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, and three deaths.

At St Panteleimon aged care facility, central Athens, there were 32 new COVID-19 cases from a sample of 100 following tests conducted by Greece’s National Public Health Organisation.

Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias and infectious disease professor Sotiris Tsiodras visited the facility on Wednesday evening after the alarm was sounded.

Mr Tsiodras said, “Thessaloniki learnt its lesson, but not Athens.”

Arrangements were made for 21 of the 32 residents who tested positive to be moved to hospitals or other facilities.
