A Homicide Squad investigation is underway into the death of a man in Oakleigh South, Melbourne.

The man was found injured in the early hours of Sunday morning, after emergency services were called at an address on Centre Road at about 3am.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and provided medical treatment but were unable to save him.

Information about the age of the man or other identification has not been made public.

The circumstances surrounding the incident as to how and why the man was injured remain under investigation.

Detectives of the Homicide Squad have appealed to any member of the public with information to come forward and assist the investigation.
