A Carlton restaurant is offering a unique, free online wine-tasting opportunity with the wines of the Naoussa region taking pride of place from 27 to 29 August.

If you live within a five-kilometre radius of the Epocha Restaurant in Rathdowne Street, Carlton, then you could be one of 180 people who can take full advantage of its unique The Naoussa Festival of Greek Wine Comes to Your Home.

Those who successfully register for the event will receive from Epocha samples of six wines from the Naoussa region, as well as a curated three-course meal kit to prepare that will go with the wines provided for the evening, starting at 6pm.

“Epocha have partnered with Naoussa PDO (Protected designation of Origin), a wine region in the North of Greece, to present a series of digital tasting events (at 6pm on Friday to Sunday evenings),” said a spokesperson for Epocha.

“The digital events, which will take place over three days, invite guests to discover the region which represents 22 wines under the guidance of, tour guide for the day, Angie Giannakodakis. Consider these free events as a trip to Greece in a glass.”

Each evening participants will sample the six wines delivered to them, as Ms Giannakodakis will talk about them on Zoom. She will also talk about the other wines of the region.

“The aim is to raise interest and the profile of Greek wines,” the spokesperson.
