Socceroos star Tom Rogic had a starring role for Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic as he beat four Dundee United players to open the scoring in Sunday’s Scottish Premier League clash at Tannadice.

Postecoglou’s charges won the match 3-0 to stay within four points of Rangers who lead the table on 39 points.

Postecoglou was full of praise for the “three really nice goals” scored by Rogic, David Turnbull and Liam Scales but he noted that Celtic “could have had more than that. But overall, it’s not an easy trip for us as they (Dundee United) are a good side, they don’t concede a lot of goals, particularly here at home, so I thought it was a good performance.”

When the two sides last met, it was at Celitic Park, the two sides drew 1-1. This time Celtic dominated possession throughout the game.

Speaking of Rogic’s goal, Postecoglou said: “Tommy’s goal is what Tommy’s all about. It’s probably the one area where he’s probably let himself down a little bit this year – just finishing off his good work.

‘But it was a super goal – great run, great composure, apart from his great feet, he’s such a strong guy you can’t knock him off the ball and he had the composure to finish today, so it was great.”

Commenting on the support he is currently enjoying from the Celtic faithful Postecoglou told Celticfc:

“I am not sure whether I am worthy of the support (of Celtic fans )I am getting because  we have to achieve what I want to. But I can’t dismiss the fact that they are supportive not just of me but the whole team. The atmosphere they create … they are the most important part of the football club. You talk to anyone who was here last year and without the Celtic support without fans in the stadium there is not the same sort of meaning to this football club. It is just about my showing gratitude for their support,
