Thirteen of Melbourne’s elite female performers, including 2021 The Voice Australia’s Cassie McIvor, will be presenting ‘The Goddesses’, a dance show that will launch next Thursday at the Meat Market in North Melbourne.

‘The Goddesses’ is a fusion of dance, music and thrilling aerial acrobatics. A visually dazzling theatre show introducing the stories and personalities of each goddess, taking audiences on an emotional rollercoaster learning that we can all somehow relate to these mythical beings.

The show is the brain child of Bree Kent, a professional dancer of 19 years who started her own entertainment company, Breeze Entertainment, 7 years ago.

Speaking to Neos Kosmos, Bree Kent, explains that the idea for the show, came to her when she visited Greece for the first time in 2017.

Going back to her father’s homeland, visiting his village in Kozani and exploring Delphi, was like going back home, she says, as she felt really connected and everything in her life kind of made sense.

Bree Kent grew up as a dancer, and has travelled the world performing.

Creating “The Goddesses” was her opportunity to bring together her culture and her art in one show, she says.

“It’s a modern take on Greek mythology,” Ms Kent adds, describing that it is the first show of seven that they have planned, exploring in each one, the different myths of the Gods and Goddesses that once lived on Mt Olympus.
