AGAPI Care’s Radiothon event held on Sunday 15 May 2022 raised over $133,240 this year.

The Radiothon was broadcast live on 3XY Radio Hellas from AGAPI Care’s Head Office in Preston featured many guest speakers that spoke about the organisation’s vision and heritage.

The AGAPI Care family had the opportunity to celebrate bringing together the Committee of Management, the staff, the volunteers and of course the clients after two long COVID years.

The panel included Bishop Evmenios Vasilopoulos from The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia District of Northcote, Lee Tarlamis OAM MP, Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region, Maria Vamvakinou MP, Emmanuel Kakavelakis, Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Arthur Evriniadis, President of AGAPI Care, Mary Gakopoulos, Chief Executive Officer of AGAPI Care, Kostas Kolokythas, Former President of AGAPI Care; Kathy Constantinou, Member of the Committee of Management of AGAPI Care, Gerry Lyons from 3KND Radio, Andrew Ballis, Member of the Committee of Management of AGAPI Care, Con Kyritsis, Member of the Committee of Management of AGAPI Care, Chris Pehlivanis, Chief Executive Officer at Western United Football Club and Tony Tsourdalakis representing various organisations.

All proceeds will go towards the renovations of the new Short – Term Accommodation and Assistance property located at 15 Burlington Street, Oakleigh which has been recently purchased by AGAPI Care. The success of this event would not be possible without the strong support of the Greek community,
