MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR THE HELLENISM OF ASIA MINOR
The Australian Hellenic Memorial Foundation is holding a memorial service for the Hellenism of Asia Minor to be conducted by Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the Australian Hellenic Memorial Domain Gardens.
The event coincides with the21st Anniversary of the unveiling of the Monument where all the Greeks and Australians who gave up their lives during the First and Second World Wars will be honored.
RSVP by Wednesday, 21 September. Following the service, light refreshments will be provided.

OAKLEIGH TRAILS – THE GREEK FOOD WALKING TOUR
The much anticipated Oakleigh Trail; a 40-minute walk along the restaurant and café-bar precinct of the most Greek suburb in Melbourne begins. REBETIKO CARAVAN @ GREEK FRINGE
Straight from the source, Fotis Vergopoulos is coming to down under to perform three unique shows in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney! Leading this all-star line-up of local and inter-state musicians, Fotis represents the next generation of talent from Greece and his musicianship and feel for rebetika is inimitable. Fotis was initiated into the world of music at the age of six by his father, Nikos, an inaugural member of the Apodimi Kompania. He has toured Europe extensively as well as Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He currently lives in Athens where he has performed with many notable artists including Agathonas Iakovidis, Martha Fritzila, Babis Gkoles and Manolis Pappos to name a few. Joining Fotis on stage are special guests and stalwarts of the Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne rebetika scene.

29TH ANNUAL GREEK-SERBIAN FRIENSHIP DAY
The Serbian Orthodox Church-Parish and School Community of St Archdeacon Stephen, in Rooty Hill, Sydney, invites the Sydney & New South Wales Greek and Serbian communities, families and friends to the “29th Annual Greek-Serbian Orthodox & Cultural Friendship Day” on Sunday, 18 September. The program will commence with the Christian Orthodox Holy Liturgy from 9.30am. From 12pm, there will be a wide range of hot foods and cold drinks for purchasing. From 12.30pm until 4pm, a rich musical and dance program will take place with the presentation of Serbian and Greek dance groups to celebrate the strong historical, geographical, cultural, and religious bonds between Serbs and Greeks as well as dancing for all at the end of the day. This annual event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic in NSW so it is happening again this year with the same deep appreciation between the Serbian and Greek communities and nations. GREEK ORTHODOX COMMUNITY OF SA HONOURS THE QUEEN
As a long standing Cultural Association, the Greek Orthodox Community of SA will commemorate the recent passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in the form of a special Memorial Church Service. The Service will be held at Franklin Street Cathedral and we invite you to attend, to light a candle and pay respect to the Queen, who reigned as Monarch of Australia for 70 years. The Queen served Australia and its people with great dignity and through significant social change. The service will also acknowledge the proclamation of His Majesty, King Charles III as the new Monarch of Australia. The Cathedral will remain open for a couple of hours after the service.
