Greek Australian magnate, Rob Keldoulis, has bought a 44 hectare medicinal cannabis farm in the Northern Midlands Region of Tasmania, 30km south of Launceston.

Keldoulis, CEO of trading company VivCourt, paid $3 million to acquire the property The Australian Financial Review has reported.

Previous owner, ASX-listed medicinal cannabis and industrial hemp business ECS Botanics, reported losses during the past two financial years, however, the farm is licensed to produce 2.5 tonnes of medicinal cannabis a year.

Keldoulis who is also the biggest solo donor to the teal independent political candidates is very passionate about alternative remedies and the environment.

Data released by the Australian Electoral Commission this month showed he gave $1.2 million to Climate 200 and a further $659,000 directly to a group of independents including Senator David Pocock and federal MP for Wentworth Allegra Spender.
