Anna Polyviou took to Instagram on Thursday morning to announce her new role as the new Executive Pastry Chef for Langham Sydney for 2023.

The Greek Cypriot Australian punk-pastry queen and her team are on board the for a six month partnership to reintroduce afternoon teas, Cakes, plated desserts and “crazy exciting new activations”.

Polyviou, has been growing in fame nationally and globally since her imaginative and full of flavour carrot cake won an award for best dessert in Australia.

From her appearance on the MasterChef elimination challenge in 2015, she has been an annual feature on the high-rating Channel 10 program, then becoming a regular guest on Channel Nine’s Family Food Fight.

For almost a decade now, Polyviou has been shaking up Sydney’s dessert scene, changing what we think of pastry making. Prior to taking over the pastry kitchen at the Langham, she had served as Shangri-La Hotel’s executive pastry chef receiving many accolades for her talent of putting together complex yet refreshing and incredibly flavoursome desserts that look like mini artefacts.

She has written several cookbooks, worked with famous international culinary magazines and is the founder of Sydney Pastry Club while her recently launched brand Cookie Dough is the best selling of its kind in Australia.
