Eleftheria Arvanitaki, one Greece’s most successful contemporary singers, is returning to Australia to perform three live concerts in March and April.

Her soft but powerful vocals, combined with a captivating stage presence have established her as one of the biggest selling artists over the past decades.

According to promoter Giant Entertainment audiences will have the chance to enjoy hits such as “I Akti”, “Ta Kormia kai ta Machairia”, “Dynata Dynata” and “Meno Ektos” during the concerts.

ANTIPODES FESTIVAL

For the Greek Community living in Australia, the Lonsdale Street Festival is a must-attend event that celebrates the rich culture and food of Greece and alternative Greek singer Alkistis Protopsalti as the headliner. The festival brings together Greek Australians to share the very best of Greece’s culture: think food, competitions and fun activities for the kids. Delicious food is part and parcel of Greek’s amazing culture, so it is little wonder that an integral part of the festival is the various food stalls that dot the streets. Live entertainment is constituted of both local and international acts and the line-up changes each year. KO WAI KOE? WHO ARE YOU?: ATHENS, AOTEAROA & THE ART OF MARIAN MAGUIRE

Who Are You?: Athens, Aotearoa & the Art of Marian Maguire showcases a selection of artworks by New Zealand artist Marian Maguire at the Hellenic Museum. Drawn from several of Marian’s series of works, including The Odyssey of Captain Cook, The Labours of Herakles, Titokowaru’s Dilemma, and A Taranaki Dialogue, Who Are You? seeks to open a discussion on identity and its intersection with history and myth. British, Māori and ancient Greek cultures collide in Marian’s works. This triad of cultures opens a visual conversation that touches on colonialism, memory, cultural interaction, history and myth, and invites viewers to consider how these factors contribute to the construction of identity on a personal, cultural and national level.

THANOS PETRELIS IN CANBERRA

Due to popular demand Greek singing sensation Thanos Petrelis will be returning to Australia in February 2023. The laiko singer is set to entertain audiences in four states. Petrelis was born in Athens, Greece. He finished third in the first Greek reality show Fame Story in 2002, which launched his singing career.

With four successful albums, three of which went gold and one platinum status, several hit singles, his songs and shows continue to be crowd favourites. Since breaking out in the Greek music scene, Petrelis has remained on the airways, club DJ’s playlists and is frequently on tour in America, Canada, London and Australia. Get ready to start the new year in good spirits dancing and singing at a Thanos Petrelis concert.

The Greek Festival of Sydney is back in January 2023 to celebrate all things Greek in Australia. Paniyiri will the the first major event of the year taking place in Marrickville on Thursday, 26 January. Free live music, Greek Food including Lamb on the Spit, Loukoumades, Children’s Activities. A typical Greek Feast of Dance and Food. All money raised will be donated to the Greek Community Home for the Aged.
