In a celebration of cultural diversity and mutual respect, The Manasis School of Greek Dance and Culture, joined forces with prominent cultural organisations in Melbourne to host the Multicultural Folkloric Dance Concert.

The new, collaborative event took place last Saturday afternoon at the Kingston City Hall in Moorabbin, with an uninterrupted 2.5 hour performance, featuring hundreds of dancers showcasing a fusion of traditional and contemporary folk dance styles by Folk Group Bulgari, Folklorna Grupa Sumadija, Bendjo Academy, Akrites Tou Pontou, and Azad Gharibian Dance.

The sold-out concert aimed to celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity as the epitome of multiculturalism while fostering connections between Hellenic and other culturally diverse organisations and the sometimes overlooked shared origins of heritage.

As the curtains closed on the dance spectacle, the audience left with a renewed sense of appreciation for the power of dance to transcend boundaries.
