The news of Brighton Grammar James Tsindos’ passing, have deeply saddened the Greek and Cypriot communities in Melbourne.

The Year 12 student, was taken to hospital on 27 May following a sudden anaphylactic reaction. Tsindos passed away on 1 June, leaving his family and friends in shock.

The exact cause of death has not yet been known; an investigation is underway and a post-mortem examination.

The talented 17-year-old, who is the grandson of famous Greek chef Jim Tsindos loved playing the piano and according to his school was very advanced for his age.

His parents Harry and Venetia, and three sisters, Kristina, Elpida and Georgia are inconsolable, his father Harry Tsindos told Neos Kosmos.

“We are all devastated, and we are looking for answers,” the dad said.

His grandfather, Jim Tsindos took to Facebook to express his grief; “There are no words to describe my pain,” he told Neos Kosmos.

James Tsindos’ funeral will take place on Monday 21 June at Panagia Kamariani in Red Hill.
