Greece’s Lord of the Rings, Eleftherios Petrounias has qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games finals following a sensational performance that won him 15,333 points.

The 31-year-old gymnast is currently leading the second in subdivision with Brazil’s Arthur Zanetti on his tail with a score of 14,900 while China’s Liu Yang of the first subdivision sits only 33 points behind Petrounias at 15,300.

Petrounias, a 2016 Olympic champion and three-time World champion (2015, 2017, 2018) not to mention six-time (2011, 2015-18, 2021) European medalist on the still rings, is ready for another gold.

The gymnast, who has been named Greek Male Athlete of the Year consecutively for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 holds the country’s hopes for another major title.
