Prahran Market will be rocking the blue and white on Saturday 29 March as it celebrates Greece’s National Day with gusto, and of course food is high on the list.

The Sweet Greek’s Kathy Tsaples will be doing food demonstrations in the Blanco Kitchen, in Harvest Hall from midday, with Philip Vakos, a previous MasterChef contestant. The two teamed up at this year’s Lonsdale Street Festival, and if that’s anything to go by, you can be sure for an entertaining food demo.

Kathy will be revealing some of her traditional Easter recipes just in time for the festivities. There will also be a demonstration to get the kids to decorate their very own Greek style Easter eggs.

Along with the food, and plenty of tastings and promotions, there will be live Greek bands and Ancient Greek Hoplites walking around the market for you to take a photo with.

“We have such a diverse population in Stonnington – and the Greek community forms a large part of this. The day should be a fantastic reflection on their traditions, cuisine, and culture,” said Prahran Market GM, Christopher Young.

“We invite all local community members to visit the market and enjoy this event together,” he said.
