Greek Australian fans will be making up a huge cheering squad outside of Greece, showing that we do in fact have two teams, but one heart.

Greek Australian fans represent the fourth biggest fan base in Australia population wise out of the 32 countries in the World Cup.

About 99,900 Greek Australians will be waking up at ungodly hours of the night to see their national team battle for glory.

The biggest fanbase is for England, with almost a million fans in Australia. The Italian fan base takes second place, while Germany, a football powerhouse, takes third.

The rankings, published by the Daily Telegraph, were compiled using census statistics collated in the Football Federation of Australia’s media guide to the tournament.

The smallest fan base was for Cameroon, with Costa Rica and Ivory Coast not far behind.
