Brisbane Roar’s Jade North will replace injured Matthew Spiranovic in next month’s A-League All Stars clash with Italian giants Juventus.

Western Sydney Wanderers and Socceroos defender Spiranovic was last week ruled out for 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on an injured ankle.

Newcastle Jets goal keeper Mark Birighitti, Perth Glory midfielder Youssouf Hersi, Central Coast midfielder Nick Montgomery and Wellington Phoenix Manny Muscat were the final players to be added to the 2014 A-League All Stars squad for the upcoming match against Serie A champions Juventus at ANZ Stadium on Sunday 10 August 2014.

A-League All Stars head coach Josep Gombau believes that he now has a group of players that will be able to compete against the current Italian Serie A champions.
“I’m satisfied with the squad that we have to play against Juventus,” Gombau said. “It will be a great experience for all the players and coaches that are involved and I want everybody to enjoy this ‘football party’.”

“The most important part of the event for the players is to allow the fans to enjoy this fantastic game. Juventus is one of the best teams in the world at the moment. I want everybody to appreciate the opportunity we have and work hard every single minute they are on the field.

“I want to say thank you to FFA for bringing this match here to Australia and also to the fans for the support to myself and the players who have been selected.”

For the Italian giants, their World Cup campaign group woes means that the Juventus contingent will most likely have a full strength team to choose from after having a decent break.

FFA CEO David Gallop has high hopes for the match after the huge success of the previous All Star matches.

The inaugural All-Stars game against England’s Manchester United in 2013 attracted a capacity crowd of over 83,000 to Stadium Australia and Gallop is expecting another large turnout next month.

For the Australian team, Central Coast Mariners head coach Phil Moss has been named as Gombau’s assistant coach with Peter Blazincic from Adelaide United as the goal keeper coach.
