On the occasion of the 20th annual Ancient History Day, The Friends of Antiquity, in conjunction with The Discipline of Classics and Ancient History, University of Queensland, will host the seminar ‘Children in the Ancient World’.

Speaking at the annual Ancient History Day about the life of Roman children and children in early Christian communities will be Dr Janette McWilliam and Dr Jennifer Manley.

Covering the topic of ‘Children in Greek Poets’ will be Emeritus Professor Bob Milns Vignettes, while Associate Professor of Classical Archaeology Lesley Beaumont will talk about ‘Children in Ancient Athens’. Dr Dorothy Watts will tackle the topic of ‘Children in Ancient Roman Britain’.

The Friends of Antiquity was established in 1988 as a special interest group of the University of Queensland Alumni Association to support the Classics and Ancient History Department.

The Ancient History Day is open to all, with registration costs included.
