In September, Greek national broadcasters ERT called for official submissions to the 2010 Eurovision national final for Greece’s entry.

Ever since then, various recording labels have been at loggerheads in order to have their stars put into the official final line-up. Some artists have also self-promoted themselves rigorously to officially get themselves involved in the Oslo gig.

Universal Records campaigned for Greek Belgian artist Katerine Avgoustakis, and Minos EMI put forward Greek French performer Despina Ricci.

New record label DREAM even promoted Greek Australian Natalia Mavrogiannis for the final list.

Providing Greece with its next Eurovision star has been one big continuous saga, especially since ERT’s much-anticipated decision depends greatly on new policies put in place by its new management.

A president is yet to be confirmed, and the line-up announcement has been pushed back from December of this year to February 2010.

Universal Music is expected to soon name another group to enter the national final race after another spanner was thrown in the works when pop group Professional Sinnerz withdrew their entrance in the finals race.
