Returning to the community’s old stomping ground of Lonsdale Street, the final lecture of the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria’s (GOCMV) 2014 seminar series will take place at the newly opened Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture.

The lecture, presented by Professor Nikos Papastergiadis from the School of Culture and Communication at The University of Melbourne, will take place on Thursday 13 November.

Entitled ‘The viability of the vertical precinct: some thought on the future of the Greek Centre for contemporary culture’, the lecture will focus on the importance of the GOCMV’s new location, and the boom of art and cultural buildings around the world.

The inauguration will also see certificates awarded to regular attendees of the lectures and the launch of the 2015 seminar program.

“We set the bar pretty high this year and we’ll endeavour to surpass it next year,” said GOCMV series convenor, Dr Nick Dallas.

The final lecture will take place on Thursday 13th November at 7.00 pm at the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture, Mezzanine Level, 168 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Entry is free. For more information, visit www.greekcommunity.com.au or contact (03) 9662 2722
