Marina and the Diamonds is the stage name of Marina Diamandis, a Welsh Greek solo singer who is in the process of breaking the big time.

Diamandis released a double-sided debut single in June last year, and subsequently performed live at the major festivals at Reading and Leeds in August.

The singer recently announced that she will be collaborating with Britney Spears’ producer Benny Blanco and TV On The Radio guitarist Dave Sitek.

Diamandis recently flew to Los Angeles to commence writing with the power duo and described the experience as “such a weird threesome; a combination of super pop and really indie”.

Blanco has worked on hit songs for Britney Spears and other big name pop artists such as Katy Perry and Ke$ha.

Marina has expressed that the songs they are collaborating on will not feature on her upcoming album.

Her music style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave songs.

Her debut album The Family Jewels is due for release next month and the single Hollywood will be released on to the public on February 1.
