The Socceroos have slipped two places in the latest FIFA world rankings, falling to 65 in the world.

The national team is still the fourth-ranked team in Asia behind Iran (42), Japan (53) and South Korea (56).

The drop in the rankings comes as a result of inactivity since the Socceroos’ Asian Cup triumph, when they climbed 37 places from 100 to 63.

Greece suffered a bigger blow, falling three places to 27, while Cyprus moved up four places to 85.

European champions Spain fell out of the top 10 for the first time since 2007, while World Cup winner Germany is still number one ahead of Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The only change in the top 10 is that Italy rose two places into 10th, while Spain drops one spot to 11th.
