One game in and the Adelaide Crows sit ontop of the AFL ladder.

Not a lot can be said so early in, but, since the Crows are taking on one of the most popular teams of the league, their Collingwood match could be telling.

The Crows managed to demolish North Melbourne last week by 77 points, a huge win for the South Australian team.

The Magpies, meanwhile, took on the Brisbane Lions and were pretty equally matched in their 12 point win.

They were dominant for most of their clash but suffered from a late fadeout.

Premiership winging club Hawthorn hit the ground running last week and rightfully find themselves in the top two. The club collected a huge 62 point win against Geelong on Monday and take on a shaky Essendon on Sunday.

There’s still a lot of buzz going around Essendon for all the wrong reasons, but the club did managed to fight a hard match against runners up, Sydney Swan last week.

It’s a tough couple of fixtures for the Bombers, but with a full strength squad behind them, they have a lot going for them.

The Swans are up against Port Adelaide on Saturday, who were slightly wounded in their Freemantle derby.

Port coach Ken Hinkley admitted that the team “couldn’t quite get what we wanted for a long enough period” and were outplayed by Freemantle.

The Western Bulldogs are hoping to bag two wins in the first two matches – something they haven’t done since 2009- when they take on Richmond.

The Tigers took the scalp of heavyweights Carlton last week, and are expecting an easy win. The Bulldogs managed to get a smaller margin win against the Eagles, but are looking much more competitive thanks to new coach Luke Beverage.
