The Greek-Australian Cultural League (GACL) is openly calling for submissions for its annual literary competition.

This issue will publish works submitted by its members, such as poems, short stories, studies, essays, book reviews and other literary works, in Greek and English.

Submitted works, in order to be published in the periodical, must be approved by the editorial committee.

Contributions for the competition can be submitted in either the Greek or English language and will be judged separately for each language.

All submissions should be the original works of the author and should not have been submitted in another competition or previously published.

A pseudonym must be used to replace the author’s name on the pages.

The same pseudonym needs to be used for every submission by the same person.

The author’s full name and corresponding pseudonym, as well as address, telephone number and email, along with the title of the work/s should be placed in a separate sealed envelope with their entry/entries to ensure their anonymity.

There can be only one entry per category, while there is also a word limit which differentiates accordingly.

Poems should not exceed 100 lines, prose entries should not exceed 2000 words, and the one-act play should not exceed 15 minutes’ duration.

Works that exceed the specified size limits will be rejected without involving the editorial committee.

For each entry, the writer must provide the committee with four copies of their submission, one for each judge.

These copies will not be returned to the participants.

In addition to the four hard copies the applicants should also forward their files electronically via email to gacl.editor@gmail.com and konie@live.com.au

The final results of the literary competition will be announced at a special function incorporating the launch of the League’s annual, bilingual periodical in November 2015.

All first-prize-winning works of every category will be published in Antipodes Vol. 61, which will be launched on the same day of the ceremony and commemorative certificates will be posted to the winners.

All entries must be submitted at the latest by 26th June, 2015 to the following address: Greek-Australian Cultural League, University of Melbourne, PO Box 4307, Parkville, VIC, 3052, Australia
