Guests at Greek hotels expressed greater satisfaction than their counterparts in rival destinations – at least in the first half of this year – according to the Global Review Index by ReviewPro published yesterday by the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises.

The satisfaction rate among the 94,940 Greek hotel guests surveyed came to 84.3 percent, with the highest rate on a regional basis observed in Epirus in northwestern Greece (88.6 percent) and the islands of the Cyclades (88 percent).

Overall customer satisfaction in Greece for May 2015 was over 80 percent, according to ReviewPro’s Global Review Index (GRI) released by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).

With 455,852 visitors to rival destination hotels also surveyed, Santorini and Myconos rank higher than other popular resorts such as St Tropez, Sardinia and Ibiza. There is also greater satisfaction from the hotels in Halkidiki and Crete than in rival hotspots such as Majorca, Marbella, Bodrum, Rimini and Antalya.

Athens hotels, however, lag those in Istanbul and Barcelona in terms of customer satisfaction but fare better than those in Rome.
