Australia’s premier Home Ideas Show returns this April at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. We increasingly cocoon ourselves with home entertainment systems and spend time and money on home renovation.

Two Greek-Australian exhibitors are making a splash at the Home Ideas Show with new developments in home cinema and innovative approaches to store space.

The Big Picture People take home entertainment systems very seriously. An expanded home cinema system can be available to anyone who wants to enjoy the excitement of big screen movies and sports at home.”Most people are surprised to discover they can have a big 2.5 metre screen, glorious full-HD image, Blu-Ray and thunderous surround sound fully installed in their home for such a small investment,” says managing director George Christou.

“An average system is typically between $6,000 and $12,000.”

While plasma and LCD are the mainstream focus for watching TV, Christou says that Full-HD Projectors are popular when seeking to achieve a Big Screen Home Cinema Experience.

“Don’t get confused with the old ‘data’ projectors, the current home cinema projectors are amazing and don’t require a dedicated pitch-black room to enjoy,” says Christou.

“A 2.5 metre screen makes a large 60 inch plasma look small, and if you compare the prices, a Full-HD Projector and big 2.5 metre screen can cost a lot less than a large plasma or LCD.”

Blu-Ray is gaining popularity in the Australian family-room offering “superior sound and picture quality over DVD players” says Christou.

Other new developments include wall speakers that are almost invisible speakers with full surround sound. “You can even paint the grills the same colours as your walls”, points out Christou.

Long time Home Ideas show exhibitor Emmanuel Mitropoulos owns U-Nique Wardrobe and Storage Solutions, a company which creates adjustable wardrobe systems custom made to fit into any walk in wardrobe.

“We offer an adjustable wardrobe system which allows you to have flexibility in your wardrobes by moving hanging space, moving shelves, moving shoe racks or moving your freestanding drawer units,” says Mitropoulos.

“We custom make it to suit the needs of the client, for example some clients like to hang their clothes more opposed to other clients that like to fold their clothes more and have them on shelves.

“You can also have your shelves or hanging space set at any height.” U-Nique Wardrobe and Storage Solutions also manufacture adjustable systems to suit pantries, linen cupboards, studies, garages, sheds, and make a range of sliding doors.

According to Mitropoulos, one of the biggest mistakes that people make with storage space is having only one shelf and one hanging rod in their wardrobe.

“This is a complete waste of space which only allows you to store items on one shelf and only allows you to hang your clothes on one hanging rod,” he says.

“With our adjustable wardrobe system you can have a double hanging section, a bank of adjustable shelves, a full hanging section to hang long dresses and coats, shoe racks, freestanding drawer units which are custom made in any height, width, depth with full extension runners a variety of handles and a variety of wood grain colours, accessory options for belts, ties, pull out pant racks and even jewellery compartments.”

Mitropoulos welcomes those wishing to better their storage space to visit their stand at the Home Ideas Show. Also see their website: www.u-niquestorage.com.au
