The Greek stock market hit a new low on Thursday, closing at 622.28 points. This was a drop of 0.96 percent from Wednesday, which saw the Athens Exchange general index close at 628.29 points.

Marking the lowest trading volume for greek stocks in the last 22 sessions of the ATHEX, this session was influenced by a dropping trend in international stock markets, augmented by the nervous anticipation of the conclusive talks on the Greek bailout review.

As a result, most blue chips posted losses; EYDAP dropped 3.82 percent and Jumbo 2.60 percent. In total 59 stocks declined, 30 moved up (among them Mytilineos, adding 0.78 percent) and 18 stayed put.

Turnover amounted to 43.4 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 73.4 million.

The large-cap FTSE 25 index contracted 1.09 percent to end at 175.39 points.
