Western Australia’s Cypriot community is preparing to hold its annual Kopiaste Dinner Dance this month.

Taking place on Saturday 17 September at Alexander the Great Hall in Inglewood, guests will have the chance to indulge in traditional Cypriot cuisine, including delicious lamb and chicken fresh off the coals and of course sheftalies.

Keeping guests entertained throughout the night will be a live band from Melbourne, with Stan Fournarakis on keyboard, Bill Tsotas on bouzouki and guitar, Stavrina Dimitriou on vocals, and featuring Theano Milides on violin.

The band will be supported by Perth’s very own Greek DJ Michali.

The community is looking forward to hosting the event, and is keen to see as many people as possible attend.

“This is an opportunity to enjoy some good food, traditional dancing, Greek music and experience the Cypriot culture,” a community spokesperson said.

The Kopiaste Dinner Dance will take place on Saturday 17 September at the Alexander the Great Hall, Homer St, Inglewood, WA (behind the Stirling Leisure Centre, 62 Alexander Drive). Cost of attendance is $50 for adults and $15 for children aged 5 to 16 years. Children under 5 attend free of charge. For more information and to reserve a table, visit www.cypriotcommunitywa.com
