Hellenic who finished second on the ladder in the race for the championship created several scoring chances to come back from an early deficit to score the last three goals of the game.

Olympics Mitch Amidy broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when he ran on to a well-timed cross from Dane Turner to right foot the ball into the net.

However, Hellenic came back through Jess Pinto scoring from close range in the 4lst minute to level the scores. Hellenic then went in front when Paddy McGuire’s drive toward goal was intercepted by defender Ross Tsounias in a tackle which resulted in a penalty.

Robbie George scored from the penalty box sending McAdam the wrong way to score in the right corner and give Hellenic a 2-1lead. Ross Tsounias was red carded in the 69th minute when he lashed out at Pinto and was sent off after collecting his second yellow. Paddy McGuire scored in the 84th minute, rounding McAdam to side foot his shot into an empty net.

It has been proposed to hold a four team champions league tournament involving soccer clubs from Darwin, Timor Leste and Sydney. The Norzone Grand Final winners Hellenic Athletic Club to compete against club sides from Timor and Sydney in a six-day tournament in Timor from early November.

It is understood the Darwin and Sydney clubs will make their own way to Timor and the Timor Leste government will cover operational costs.
