There’s a heck of a lot going on next week, not only in the arts in the Greek community but across the board.

It’s dead over winter and then come September right though to the end of January, all hell breaks loose.

It’s mainly due to the weather.

It’s dead over winter and then come September right though to the end of January, all hell breaks loose.

For one, the Melbourne Fringe Festival kicks off and the Greek presence is strong.

Here are but few of the shows you can go check out.

Floating Narrative by roving storyteller Xavier Michelides.

He has assured us that if you’re at the North Melbourne Town Hall (The Fringe Hub) around 7pm, you wont have to find him…he’ll find you.

There’s also A+B = ? written and performed by Jorge Tsipos at the Smallblock venue off Lygon St.

Nick Pelomis, a critically acclaimed actor from Adelaide will be performing, The Event by John Clancy at the Loft in the Lithuanian Club in North Melbourne.

Award winning composer and performer Basil Hogios will be part of the cabaret show Mrs Bang: A Series of Seductions in 55 minutes at the New Ballroom at Trades Hall.

Not part of the Fringe but highly recommended is Steve Mouzakis (Where the Wild Things Are) in the American hit show Syncopation about ballroom dancing.

That’s at Chapel off Chapel Theatre until September 26.

I haven’t seen Syncopation as yet, but according to the press, critics have been tripping over themselves in praise of the show.
