Australia Head Coach Holger Osieck has selected a squad of 19-players for the upcoming international friendly fixture against Paraguay which will be played at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday 9th October (kick-off 8:00pm).

Six players from the A-League; Alex Brosque, Jason Culina, Eugene Galekovic, Matt McKay, Jade North and Michael Thwaite will be joined by 13 overseas based players in the Socceroos squad.

Harry Kewell and Josh Kennedy will come into the Socceroos squad for the first time since the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The pressure will be on Australia after a string of poor results in the wake of the 2010 World Cup.

Australia has previously faced Paraguay on four occasions in 2000 in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and in 2006 in Brisbane, with the Socceroos holding the advantage with one win and three draws.

This will be the second time that Australia will meet Paraguay at the Sydney Football Stadium, having previously met at the same venue on the 9th June 2000 when they played out a nil-all draw.
