Health expert Kathy Vasilipolous shares with Neos Kosmos her top five tips to reducing stress and boosting energy.

1. Drink two litres of water a day – our body is 70 per cent water so we need to keep rehydrated.

2. Eat breakfast every morning between 7.00 am and 9.00 am – bodies respond better to routine and during this time are more receptive to taking in vital nutrients.

3. Bed by 11.00 pm – your body recovers and repairs itself when you are asleep so make sure it’s lights out by 11.00 pm. The occassional late night won’t harm but don’t make a habit of it.

4. Exercise for 30 minutes three times a week – regular exercise stimulates the production of endorphins and seratonin which means that more exercise equals reduced stress.

5. Get out in nature – relax and calm yourself from your fast-paced life with a long walk in the park or a walk along the beach. Fill your lungs with fresh air as you unwind with nature.
