The recent changes to the composition of the GOCMV’s Executive, and the reasons given for these, insults the intelligence of every single member of the organisation.
What sort of treasurer is unaware of significant transfers of funds occurring in the organisation they are serving?
Mr Dikeos has been on the Greek Community Board for a number of years now and has had the ultimate responsibility of managing the Community’s finances, yet he claims ignorance with regard to the spending of significant sums of money!
Without a doubt, if such ineffectual behaviour were carried out by any other treasurer of a company or organisation, the only responsible action for that individual would be to tender their resignation.
In Mr Dikeos’s case, he has both a legal and a moral obligation towards the members of the GOCMV to do exactly this.
The Board of Directors has a duty to call for the treasurer’s immediate resignation and if they won’t then we as members must demand his resignation.
This is in keeping with the requirements of the GOCMV’s Constitution and the Corporations Act.
If Mr Dikeos has any decency he will see fit to not only resign from the treasurer’s post but also as a member of the Community.
Enough is enough!
