The Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia (GOCSA) will be holding a Biggest Morning Tea for Chelsea Lethrangomites.

The morning tea will raise funds for this special little girl whose life has been turned upside down with an aggressive terminal brain tumour. With treatment, Chelsea has been given six months to two years to live, without – just two months.

Maria Foundas, events organiser, Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia was approached by Chelsea’s cousin Sophie Diamandi to help with fundraising.

“I was looking for events that would allow GOCSA to enter into the community, in the sense that we are multicultural now and we are taking on more events that are going on around us. A national event like the Biggest Morning Tea is quite important.

“At the same time we were approached by Sophie to help her and her family [pay] funds that were incurred by taking little Chelsea to Germany to receive treatment.”

Chelsea is back in Australia after treatment but is in dire need of you help and support. All door money from the Biggest Morning Tea will go to the Cancer Council but any donations and raffle prize money will all go straight to Chelsea’s family and money needed for ongoing treatment. There will be entertainment from musical trio Tselepi who will be playing traditional Greek songs on the day of the event alongside Greek sweets and pastries and tea and coffee.

“We are keen to have Chelsea at the event, we are crossing fingers that her health will prevail. But her grandfather is attending and her cousin Sophie. They are bringing galaktobouriko and someone from the family will definitely be speaking at the event.”

The Biggest Morning Tea: Tuesday 7 June at Olympic Hall, 288 Franklin Street, Adelaide from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. Tickets are $8.00 per person and $5.00 with concession.
