A decisive step was taken by Olympiakos  after they crushed Panathinaikos in game two of the final of the Greek Volleyball playoffs.

The reds produced their best display of the season, all but sealing their first title since 2003.

They won easily by three sets to nil (25-21, 25-19, 25-14), after snatching the initiative in the series after the first meeting, which they also won 3-0.

In that match-up, Olympiakos took the home advantage by storming Panathinaikos at Glyfada.

The reds went on to win 25-22, 25-20, 29-27 and now need just one more victory in the best-of-five series.

Olympiakos have thus far  completely exploited the defensive problems of Panathinaikos with Ivan Miljkovic scoring freely in both match-ups along with Jose Rivera.

Liberman Agamez has been a big point scorer for PAO but his contribution has received little back up from his team mates, who were quite stagnant in game two and received scathing appraisals in the Greek media.

Game three of the series will decide the title if it goes the way of the reds. The match will take place on Monday, May 4 (Melbourne time).

In the playoffs for positions 5-8, Aris dismissed PAOK 3-0 on Monday (25-22, 25-17, 25-21) and won their series 2-1.

They will now face Phinikas Syrou for a spot in next season’s Challenge Cup.
