Glykeria is back in Australia, and will be playing three shows only in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. A singer whose career has spanned over 30 years, Glykeria has reached iconic levels withseveral multi-platinum releases.
Glykeria was born into a musical family in Serres. She started her career in Athens in 1974 playing in the tavern Leto in Plaka. In the 80’s, she released her first solo album, Ta Smyrneika, traditional songs from Asia Minor which caused a stir in the industry, showcasing Glykeria’s unique voice to the nation.
During the following years, Glykeria performed at well-known clubs and bouzoukia, gaining momentum and many fans, and collaborating with other well-known singers, including the legendary George Dalaras.
A seasoned professional, her musical style is about singing from the heart, with depth, melancholy and an abundance of emotion making her a phenomenal and unique performer. She has throughout the years gained a strong following in Israel, Turkey, Canada, France and England.
