Get ready to be taken on a culinary journey through Greek cuisine. All through August and September, some of the top Greek restaurants in Melbourne will present Hellenic feasts like no other in this year’s Flavours of Greece festival.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday 17 August at Philhellene restaurant.The hidden and unique flavours that Greece has to offer will be on display through the flavours of mastic and saffron. The launch of the book Forty Fine Years – A celebration of the Pantazis family and Parap Fine Foods will also be hosted on the night.

The book ventures through the amazing contribution Parap Fine Foods has made to bringing the world’s finest foodstuffs to the Northern Territory. Dine at Greek restaurants throughout the festival and be immersed in flavour sensations that will take you back to the Hellenic Republic. At Spitiko, enjoy a step back into time to the early days of Greek Australian cuisine. Tsindos will serve a Cypriot banquet. Salona is presenting a seven course divine degustation called the Black Athena.

On Saturday 17 September the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria and the Doncaster Greek School Parent’s Committees will host the all important family dinner dance. Pireau Blues will host the dinner event The Foods of the Gods while Alpha Ouzeri will celebrate Greek culture and symbols through food. Flavours of Greece is presented by the Antipodes Festival, the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria and Bank of Cyprus.
