George “The Iron Lion” Longinidis is ready for his lion’s share next Saturday night, when he will be fighting Thailand’s top ranked Lukkaew to defend his World Heavyweight Kickboxing title.

The Iron Lion – undefeated in 14 fights with nine knock-out victories – will be pouncing back into the ring after shoulder reconstruction surgery, an injury from 12 months ago. Although George’s opponent has nearly 10 times more fights than him – he boasts 61 wins from 93 fights – George feels like he has the upper hand but knows the win will come at a price against his body.

“It won’t be easy but I am confident my power, knowledge, faith and wealth of experience throughout my 25 years in the fight scene, including the priceless advice, wisdom and teachings of my older brother Stan “The Man”, I will, God willing, win the fight” Longinidis told Neos Kosmos.

Longinidis will fight Lukkaew to defend his title on Saturday 24 September at the Grand Star Receptions in North Altona. Tickets for the show start from $50 and the first fight begins at 7.30 pm.
