Take a snapshot of this headline, because it is a very rare occurrence.

Unless you’ve been living in Samothraki these past few months, you would know all about the Apple vs Samsung patent dispute that has engulfed the technology industry with rumour, speculation, and concern.

Well, now for Round 2.

Samsung have had the Federal Court order banning the sale of their much-anticipated Galaxy 10.1 tablet lifted, allowing them to begin selling the product in Australia. Products should flow into stores just in time for Christmas. The desperate can pre-order online.

With all the publicity surrounding the case, which has sparked a global battle between the two technology giants, sales of the Galaxy 10.1 are expected to boom. So much so that Samsung have taken the unusual (if not petulant) step of thanking their combatant for creating all the global hype.

So why all the hysteria? Simple: Samsung’s tablet is touted by many as the “iPad killer”. It comes with a swag of features which those in the know claim are simply better than the rest.

Street price will be around $599 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version up to $899 for the 32GB 3G version. Also look out for carrier bundles.
