What do you get when you combine some hip-shaking moves along with Greek music, laughter and fun? The answer is Melbourne’s newest Greek trend, Tsifteteli Pump.

Held every Monday at 6.30 pm, this fun class is a mix of Tsifteteli and an aerobic workout in one and has finally come to ‘Little Athens’.

Leading the class is instructor Voula Kornaros (Kotsiras), who has more than 15 years’ experience in Greek dancing.

Mrs Kornaros initiated the classes to cater for those who share her love and passion for dancing, Greek music and a workout, without having to dress up and hit the town or go to the gym.

Combining the above brought her classes into fruition and upon deciding where to hold the event, she couldn’t go past Melbourne’s number one Greek precinct Oakleigh, where she lives and spends most of her time.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive and the project is receiving much support from the local community.

The class is ideal for all ages and fitness levels, combining many moves from Tsifteteli, as well as some other favoured Greek styles.

Cost of attendance is $12 pp.
