TRIANTAFYLLOS 2023 AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Popular Greek singer, Triantafyllos, will be in Australia in January 2023 for four live shows. The talented musician with huge hits such as “Krata Ta Ola”, “Min Me Trypas San To Triantafyllo” and “Spao Ta Rologia” will appear in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne where his first concert is already sold out, with a second one having been added. Triantafyllos was born and raised in Rhodes, where he started his career. At the age of eight, he began taking piano lessons and went on to perform live at 18. At the age of 19, he moved to Athens and was quickly signed to a record label. His first album was released in 1997 titled “Vlepo Kati Onira” and went gold, selling over 48,000 copies. It was followed up by more successful albums such as “Grammata kai afieroseis” and “I agapi den pernaei”. Triantafyllos has also composed most of the songs on the first two albums of Natasa Theodoridou, on top of having collaborated with many artists such as Antonis Vardis, Lefteris Pantazis, Vassilis Karras, Kaiti Garbi to name a few.

HELLENIC MUSEUM SUMMER SCHOOL 2023

Melbourne’s Hellenic Museum this January, is exploring the spectacular and fascinating world of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Titled ‘History & Culture of the Ancient World’ the Hellenic Museum Summer School offers a series of informative, relaxed and entertaining four short courses over an entire week, starting 9 January. The courses are: 1. Ancient Cyprus: the Island at the Crossroads of the Mediterranean, 2. Aristotle’s Human Flourishing Project, 3. Ancient Greek Religion, 4. An Introduction to Classical Mythology.

Each subject consists of five sessions, delivered across five days. Details below. Sessions will take place in person and online. People taking part online can participate live or watch recorded lectures at a time of their convenience. Participants can enrol in one, two, three or all four courses. A discount applies if enrolling in all courses.

KAIROS @ SYDNEY FESTIVAL

In ancient Greek, Kairos is “the right or opportune moment for doing, a moment that cannot be scheduled”. That moment is now for director Meryl Tankard AO, composer Elena Kats-Chernin AO and visual artist Régis Lansac OAM, who have created a vibrant new dance work responding to these uncertain and challenging times in early 2023. Commissioned and produced by FORM Dance Projects and created by three world-renowned Australian artists and long-time collaborators, with the next generation of dance makers, this Sydney Festival world premiere will encompass a vast lexicon of human experience and human movement: the dark and challenging; the ugly and beautiful; the humorous and joyful.

Direct from Athens, Greece, heavy psych rockers 1000mods make their triumphant return to Australian shores and debut in New Zealand for 11 electric live shows in February 2023 with support from Jack Harlon and the Dead Crows & Iron Blanket.
