The Greek Australian Cultural League (GACL) is calling for entries to three of their major projects; the 61st Antipodes Periodical, the Literary Competition and the Antipodean Palette.
GACL is looking for interesting submissions in the categories of poetry, short stories, essays, studies and book reviews to fill the next edition that will be released in November 2015.
Word limits do apply, with the league specifying that poems should not exceeding 100 lines, short stories and essays no more than 2,000 words, studies 3,000 words and book reviews no more than 1,000 words.
Seven copies of the work must be mailed or submitted electronically before the June 28 deadline.
The annual literary competition is looking for poetry, short story and one-act theatrical plays in English or Greek.
People are able to submit one entry per category but they must be original works of the author and should not have been submitted in another competition or have been previously published.
Poetry entries should not be more than 100 lines, prose entries should not exceed 2,000 words and the one-act play should not exceed 15 minutes in duration.
The entries must be submitted under a pseudonym, with the author’s full name and corresponding pseudonym, address, telephone number and email, along with the title of the work/s placed in a separate sealed envelope with their entry/entries to ensure anonymity.
Four copies of the work need to be submitted to the address: Greek-Australian Cultural League, University of Melbourne, PO Box 4307, Parkville, VIC, 3052, Australia and electronically to email@example.com before the June 26 deadline.
Now in its fifth year, the Antipodean Palette is calling for artists to submit their works for the exhibition will be held at Steps Gallery on August 13 until August 23.
Artists are asked to submit their entries online via the email firstname.lastname@example.org before the May 22 deadline.
