Tickets? Check. Sunscreen? Check. Party island schedule? Check. Well, we have that one sorted for you if you are yet to cement this part of your itinerary. Of course when you travel to Greece during the European summer, you must commit to visiting at least one party isle.

From the underworld feel of Enigma Club in Santorini’s main town Thira, to the buzzing local night strip of Naoussa in Paros, nothing beats the Hellenic summer vibe at this time of year.

Mykonos is no doubt high on the must-do list of summer partying in the Cyclades. After the hype of Wog Boy 2, many Greek Aussies will be extra geared up to visit the island.

Cavo Paradiso

What would a trip to Mykonos be without dancing the night away at the infamous cliff top venue Cavo Paradiso; it is just one of Mykonos’ most successful nightclubs.

This European summer, Cavo will again host some of the biggest names in the dance music scene including Dennis Ferrer, Armin Van Buuren, David Morales, Booka Shade and David Guetta to name a few. With capacity to host 3,000 diehard party people, the club has been successfully running for almost two decades.

It showcases a diverse range of dance genres, from house and electro to techno and trance. It is regarded by music industry specialists, artists and clubbers alike as one of the most impressive venues on the planet, and frequently tops global nightclub lists.

The venue itself is a marvel. It is located on the edge of a 150 ft cliff that overlooks the Aegean Sea.

Classic island images surround the open-air club such as clear turquoise waters and endless blue summer sky. If you are counting on dancing all night until the early hours of the morning, what better way to do so than in a picturesque venue that makes you feel like you are walking around in a real life postcard.

This year, Cavo returns with mind-blowing back to back events from the beginning of July until the end of August. It is only a short bus ride from Mykonos town and is definitely worth the trip.

Space Dance Mykonos Experience

While we are on the topic of Mykonos, it is also a must to visit Space Dance Mykonos Experience. This club is located in the heart of Mykonos’ main town Hora and it is truly an experience in itself.

The last time I was there, I witnessed robot dancers, live saxophonists on top of the main bar, pythons (yes, real life pythons) wrapped around some very brave patrons and of course a massive torrential glitter storm.

Space hosts ‘white’ parties throughout the summer season, where every party-goer is dressed head to toe in nothing but white. The dedication to the theme sees the crowd become the party; everywhere you look, people are glowing in the neon lights.

The Space party does not wane and promises to keep you rocking until sunrise everyday of the week.

MTV Splash Parties

Of course, the fun does not stop there. MTV Greece has teamed up with Heineken to host some of the hottest beach parties of the season. This exclusive party concept has been labelled MTV Splash Parties and it will bring audiences a vast array of musical performances.

The launch party will be held on July 3 at Club Bolivar in Saronida, about 45 kilometres south of Athens, and two more events will follow. On July 17, Splash Parties will hold another event in Halkidiki in the north, and August 1 will see the closing party hosted at Super Paradise beach in Mykonos.
