OLYMPIAN SOCIETY CELEBRATES PALM SUNDAY
The Olympian Society will celebrate Palm Sunday with a lunchtime event and music by Anagennisi Band. The price of the event is $40 and includes food and drink (children under 12 free). The event will be held at the Olympian Society.

A SPY AND A GREAT ESCAPE BY DR PHIL KAFCALOUDES
Author and broadcast journalist Dr Phil Kafcaloudes will share his grandfather’s story of escaping the WWII bombing of Kastellorizo on a ship sponsored by the British and Australian governments. The presentation, at the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club on 27 April is against the backdrop of the White Australia Policy, with parallels drawn with the plight of today’s refugees. His grandfather settled in Darwin and founded a large building business.

COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE FOR PONTIAN GENOCIDE
The Pontian Coordinating Committee for the Commemoration of the Greek Genocide in Melbourne, under the auspices of the Australian Federation of Pontian Associations, is hosting a Memorial Service and a Wreath Laying Ceremony to commemorate the Genocide of the Hellenes of Pontos on Sunday morning, 15 May. The event will take place at Saint Eustathios Greek Orthodox Cathedral, following by the wreath laying ceremony at the Australian Hellenic Memorial.

HACCI MEET ‘n’ GREEK
After two long years of event cancellations, the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) is determined for the cohorts of businesses and entrepreneurs that have been left behind. Alongside the launch of the 2022 Young Professionals Network Mentoring Program, HACCI’s next event aspires to bring the next generation into the spotlight. On Thursday 14 April HACCI will hold ‘Meet ‘n’ Greek’ in collaboration with the high energy crew of the Greek Youth Generator, at The Botanical Hotel, in South Yarra. A HYPN annual membership is $80.00 and also provides access to other HACCI events at a special HYPN rate during the year.

DIMITRIS BASIS GREEK NIGHT AT STARS HALL
The Institute of Macedonian Studies is bringing famous Greek singer Dimitris Basis to Melbourne in collaboration with the Greek and Cypriot Communities and the Australian Research Institute, for a concert and dance evening on 28 May at the fully renovated Stars International Hall. The cultural event comes after the publication and release of the book on Imvros and Tenedos, and will be dedicated to the Hellenism of Asia Minor. A dance performance along selected songs loved by the Greeks worldwide will follow. Doukissa Filippou and her orchestra will also perform at the event. Ticket prices range from $120 to $150 and include complete dinner, menu, with two bottles, desserts, soft drinks and coffee.
