GREEK SHORT FILM FESTIVAL POSTPONED
The Athens Short Film Festival which was to have been shown at the Greek Centre at 7pm on Saturday, 7 May has been postponed with a new date to be announced in the near future.
FAMILY FUN DAY
Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Australia (TASCA) are having a Family Fun Day this Saturday for patients, supporters and families. While there will be free coffee and tea, participants are advised to bring their own snacks. Face painting for the kids and there will be an ice cream van. Event is free but donations welcome

BOOK PRESENTATION
The author of A River Divided, George Paxinos will be in conversation with fellow author Phil Kafcaloudes. A River Divided is a novel that poses the most important moral and social questions of today.

COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE FOR PONTIAN GENOCIDE
The Pontian Coordinating Committee for the Commemoration of the Greek Genocide in Melbourne, under the auspices of the Australian Federation of Pontian Associations, is hosting a Memorial Service and a Wreath Laying Ceremony to commemorate the Genocide of the Hellenes of Pontos on Sunday morning, 15 May. The event will take place at Saint Eustathios Greek Orthodox Cathedral, following by the wreath laying ceremony at the Australian Hellenic Memorial.

DIMITRIS BASIS GREEK NIGHT AT STARS HALL
The Institute of Macedonian Studies is bringing famous Greek singer Dimitris Basis to Melbourne in collaboration with the Greek and Cypriot Communities and the Australian Research Institute, for a concert and dance evening on 28 May at the fully renovated Stars International Hall. The cultural event comes after the publication and release of the book on Imvros and Tenedos, and will be dedicated to the Hellenism of Asia Minor. A dance performance along selected songs loved by the Greeks worldwide will follow. Doukissa Filippou and her orchestra will also perform at the event. Ticket prices range from $120 to $150 and include complete dinner, menu, with two bottles, desserts, soft drinks and coffee.

FECCA 2022 CONFERENCE
After a long hiatus, FECCA 2022 Conference will come together face-to-face next year in Melbourne holding a conference where multicultural communities, policy makers, service providers, academics and many more, can delve into several current topics. The initial lineup of excellent speakers include Patricia Turner AM, Behrouz Boochani, Megan Davis, Kumi Taguchi, and Nyadol Nyuon.

PANIYIRI GREEK FESTIVAL
The Paniyiri 2022 Greek Festival, Brisbane’s world-renowned cultural festival where everyone is encouraged to dine, dance, and party like a Greek, will take over Musgrave Park in South Brisbane on Saturday 21 & Sunday 22, May. Paniyiri is the longest running cultural festival in Queensland, the largest Greek festival in Australia, and a global celebration of culture and community. Tickets include cultural presentations, cooking demonstrations, entertainment including live music, dancing and DJs; art exhibitions, fashion parades, even a pop-up Greek village to visit!
